Berry Hill is probably our most picturesque lake sighted in a small ornamental wood in Taplow. It has a small flow of running water through it which is fed from the Jubilee Canal.

February 2025

Berry Hill continues to flourish  with some very good fish being caught, although reports are it’s not an easy water. The weed on this water during the mid-summer period can be bothersome and we will continue to try and control this. Regular tree and bramble work has been carried out on the banks and around the island.

The feeder stream continues to flow well into the inlet, now the inlet pipe issues have been solved, along with the cleaning of the silt traps.

Siltex (calcium carbonate) treatment is planned for late winter/early spring application.

Fish stocks are reckoned to be around 50 carp, with a capture of a high 30lb fish in recent years along with several other 30lb fish. Reports of that elusive “big fish” being seen but not caught, so we would dearly love to see it banked,  weighed and photographed.
